Porcelain cup and saucer, handmade and handpainted. Thrown, altered and slip cast porcelain, decorated with vintage decals from England and handpainted with precious German gold luster, china paints, and enamels. These pieces are one-of-a-kind; each one is decorated in a different style – with different colors, patterns, and decals. The patterns are derived from my travels through Germany, Japan, and China.
My materials and tools are ordered exclusively from Germany and England. These materials and tools have been and are still being used today by the prominent European porcelain manufacturers, such as Meissen, Herend, and Stoke of Trend.
The gold luster from Germany has a higher gold content than all the lusters that are available in the US and is, therefore, more intense and precious.
The vintage decals from England and Japan have been used in historically important porcelain works throughout the last two centuries. Most of these decals were applied to functional dinnerware sets and have a significant recognition factor throughout time.
